
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Reno Recipes’ chefs Jonathan Chapin and Daryl Butterfield make spicy basil beef over rice. Pam Pokorny joins to talk about this weekend’s Tahoe City Food and Wine Classic where Reno Recipes will be doing cooking demonstrations.
Ingredients:
- Basmati rice
- Rice wine vinegar
- Thai chili sauce
- Beef
- Sesame oil
- Yellow onion
- Garlic
- Serrano peppers
- Soy sauce
- Salt and pepper
- Tomato
- Sriracha
- Butter
- Basil
- Sesame seeds
Directions:
- Steam basmati rice.
- Toss with rice wine vinegar and Thai chili sauce; set aside.
- Pour sesame oil in pan.
- Add garlic, yellow onion and Serrano pepper.
- Deglaze with soy sauce.
- Add beef and season with salt and pepper.
- When beef is cooked, add tomato, Sriracha and butter.
- Stir until sauce forms.
- Serve over the rice, topped with basil leaves and white sesame seeds
